How about taking a break for a few minutes and wandering with me to see some pretty art studios?
Romantic, creative spaces that seem like they’re pulled from a dream or movie fantasy, art studios are the stuff of which dreams are made. Sometimes still and beautiful, sometimes chaotic and wild, they speak to the creator within each of us while offering a glimpse into the makers that inhabit them.
Here are 11 of my favorites right now:
This colorful, modern space is an absolute dream. Organized shelves, millions of art materials and a clean, clear space to sit down and draw when the workday begins. From Gosha Nagashima at studiogosha.com.
Is it the way the gorgeous artwork is tiled on the back wall? The adorable vintage table and stools? Or the fact that this lovely French artist so completely belongs in the little fantasy world she has created? I can’t decide, but I love everything about this space. From Nathalie Lété at Milk Decoration.
Clean, minimal, calm and functional. I want to create in this lovely space run by Danish designer, Anders Arhoj.
This warm, cozy studio is the epitome of “a place for everything, and everything in its place.” Love the vintage crates and shelves.
Functional, organized and just stunning. The blue-green glassware collection on the top shelves is a lovely touch in Joanna Madden’s jewelry-making studio.
A tiny peek into Wanda Choate’s art studio, which looks to be one part French cottage, one part magical art factory. It’s as beautiful as her oil paintings.
Dark, a little wild, and impossibly romantic. The beautifully stained work bench is cleverly outfitted with hooks for all the tools, keeping them in easy reach.
One word: LIGHT! I bet you’re as envious as I am right now of this cheery, light-filled workspace, which belongs to Kim West.
Tiny, homey and ridiculously adorable, this workhorse space has everything: organization, light, storage and good flow. It belongs to Margaret Tsirantonakis.
This bohemian ceramics studio could not be more appealing. The shelves are a great way to keep work in progress safe and neat, and I love the touch of the hanging plants in the window. From Eve Simmons of Liquorice Moon Studios.
And finally, who could look at this incredibly picturesque studio of French artist Claire Basler and not fall in love? Brace yourselves…the woman literally lives and paints in a castle in France! The arhed windows and abundant light, combined with the straightforward easel setup, make it a warm and dreamy place to spend hours, days, months working away.
